Despite the Pandemic’s effect on retail, cosmetics company, C’est Moi, hasn’t slowed down. The clean beauty brand is continuing to evolve and even recently launched three new makeup collections at Target stores. They are Visionary Metallic Makeup Crayon Set ($20), Lid Love Cream Eyeshadow ($12) and Flushed Lip & Cheek Balm ($12).
Jennifer Saul, the company’s SVP of Marketing, spoke with us about the launch, zoom makeup tips and even her own daily beauty routine.
Q&A with C’est Moi Beauty’s SVP of Marketing, Jennifer Saul
Q: What adjustments did your company make to deal with our current times?
A: We have focused heavily on our digital presence while incorporating lifestyle imagery from our socials and UGC (user generated content) that really shows how consumers can both experience and love our products in their own lives.
Q: What makeup tips can you share for looking your best over zoom or Facetime?
A: Less is more. Tinted moisturizer for a clean canvas on the skin, A pop of color on lips, highlighter in corners of the eyes and tip of the nose with a quick coat of mascara is my “go to” to look fresh and ready for the day.
Q: Why is it important to use “clean” beauty products?
A: The beauty industry has never been regulated. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has no authority to recall toxic beauty products unless a manufacturer volunteers. And while the European Union has banned more than 1,000 chemicals common in personal care products, the United States has banned just 11. The FDA allows chemicals known to cause cancer including parabens, phalates, formaldehyde, lead and more to be used in products we use on ourselves and our families each day.
Q: What is your daily skin regime?
A: My regimen consists of daily and evening cleansing. My faves are our gentle foaming cleansing gel and our gentle cleansing water. At night I use our clarify exfoliating cleaner 2 times per week. I always treat my skin with a vitamin C serum or rosehip oil before I apply our gentle moisture lotion and gentle sunscreen spf 30.
Q: We’re missing the spa right now … are there any products that will give us that fresh facial feeling while we’re stuck at home?
A: Face masks are the best mini-facial you can give yourself. I love our Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask to instantly revive and purify my skin. I honestly feel like taking a break for a face mask gives you a physical and mental reset button, while giving you a refreshed face.
