Fisher Space Pen Co. is known for innovation that is out of this world. The family-run business based in Boulder City, Nevada, manufactures the iconic Astronaut pen that flies on every crewed space mission, including the recent SpaceX mission to the ISS.
When the pandemic started, the company, which employs over 60 full-time workers, felt moved to do something to help its customers and their communities here on earth. It focused on its Raw Brass Models, which are proven to possess antimicrobial properties – destroying bacteria on its surface in 2 hours – and began mass producing them. Then Fisher donated a portion of those sales to support Feeding America’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. Those Raw Brass Models have now become top-sellers, surpassing last year’s sales figures.
In addition, to honor America’s heroes on the front lines, the company has created its First Responder Series, with each pen benefitting its corresponding charity. The collection of Matte Black Cap-O-Matic pens is emblazoned with a different color line for each profession: White for EMS workers; Green for Forest Service and Conservation personnel; Orange for Search & Rescue personnel; Red for firefighters and Blue for law enforcement officers.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women on the front lines through this difficult time. Our First Responder Series represents our efforts to contribute to our nation’s brave first responders who sacrifice so much.”
Matt Fisher, Vice President
